What is your background?

I grew up in Cornwall, lived briefly in Israel and then in the USA for 7 years. I moved to Barra in 1991 after taking part in archaeological work as a part of my BA at Sheffield University. I worked as a general nurse at St Brendan's and at the GP surgery, as well as a community psychiatric nurse for Barra and Vatersay. I am now retired.

I have one son and two twin grandchildren. My interests are renewables, the environment, mental health issues, community cohesion and horticulture.

Why are you a member of the CBAB Board?

I joined the CBAB board in order to help improve the environment and facilities of Barra and Vatersay so that the future generations are able to continue to live and work in this beautiful place.
